Arrangements for Xmas and the New Year

The coaches are arranging some Christmas fun for swimmers on the 17th December and opening the full session from 5pm to 7:30pm to all swimmers for a session of fun events and relay races.  Come along in your fancy dress and get into the Christmas spirit.

There will be no swimming on SUNDAY 21st December due to the leisure centre deciding to close early!. The last formal training session is on the 22nd December and the first session back on normal times will be on the 5th January.

We have arranged some coached lanes during public swimming sessions between the 22nd December and 5th January as follows so if the kids are bored or getting under your feet, send them along:-

Saturday 27th - 9-10am All squads

Sunday 28th - 10-11am Juniors

                    11 - 12am County Squads

Monday 29th - 10-11am Juniors

                    11 - 12am County Squads

Tuesday 30th -10-11am Juniors

                    11 - 12am County Squads

Friday 2nd January 1-3pm All squads

Note: These sessions are in roped off lanes during the public swim sessions for which £1.45 per session is payable to the Leisure Centre (which they get to keep)

The end of year disco with presentations for the mini gala swimmers will take place on Saturday 10th January 2009 at Lydney Rugby Club.  Please bring along some food (there is a list on the Leisure Centre Noticeboard) and sell raffle tickets like crazy.

An annual plan has been published listing all events and activities the club is planning up to December 2009.  Details have also been published in the 'events and fixtures' section of the members area.

Fundraising

As a 'Community Amateur Sports Club', Lydney Swimming Club has signed up to the 'clubcharity' service This enables direct donations to the club to be made online and for gift aid to be claimed against those donations.  Click on the logo for more details.

Thanks to Donna and everyone who helped out, the Jumble Sale on Saturday 1st November raised over £200.

Take Donna's easyfundraising challenge -From the end of September until the end of December the person who raises the most money for Lydney Swimming Club using easyfundraising will win £20 in Argos vouchers [but don't tell David]. Please write down each amount you raise  per sale or the sale item you purchased, Donna will check all entries in early January and make an award to the winner. Come on join in lets have some fun.
